The Pacific Fleet Large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Vinogradov” of the Russian Navy is pushing the American destroyer USS John McCain out of the territorial waters of the Russian Federation.
The US Navy actually announced a deliberate provocation.
The United States doesn’t recognize the Russian-designated border at Peter the Great Bay near Vladivostok, the 7th US Navy said in a statement.
The actions of the missile destroyer USS John McCain, which was expelled from the territorial waters of Russia, “were intended to show that these aren’t Russian waters.”
“USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) defended navigation rights and freedoms in the Peter the Great Bay area of the Sea of Japan. The rights to free and legal use of the sea, recognized in international law, challenging Russia’s excessive maritime claims,”.
According to Washington, the border defined by the Soviet Union in 1984 does not comply with international law.
“The United States will fly, sail and operate wherever international law allows – regardless of excessive maritime claims and current events.”
