A video has been published confirming that the Mi-17 helicopter of the Afghan special forces in the Wardak province, in the central part of Afghanistan, on March 18, 2021 was shot down. The victims of the accident were nine members of the security forces on board.

The helicopter was reportedly shot down overnight by militants loyal to the Alipur militia commander using a laser-guided missile.
