Venezuela’s president , Nicolas Maduro, presented this Thursday the first prototype training drone made by Venezuelan labor, manufactured by the recently inaugurated National Aeronautical Company (EANSA) based in Aragua`s state. President Nicolás Maduro led a work session developed in the state of La Guaira with the transport sector, dedicated to innovation and technological sovereignty for the consolidation of multimodal transport in the country.

“We are on the fundamental lines for the development of our technological capabilities, which lead us to achieve the social development of the economic life of the country,” Maduro said in a broadcast of Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

A year ago the now-late Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez reported the drone program was being developed with the help of Russia, China and Iran. Also in June 2012, the name of the team leader of the project designers appeared for the first time in the media: Ramin Keshavarz, a former employee of the Iranian Defense Industrial Organization (Sasad for its acronym in Persian).

He also presented different achievements in the Caracas subway, the repowering and elaboration of wagons using 100% national technology, a new control system for trains and railways of the Institute of Railways using free software (Python and PostgreSQL) and other important achievements in the transportation area.
