“The idea is to articulate all the security forces to combat covid-19,” said Vice President Rodríguez.

The vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Saturday the creation of Special Temporary Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones in the border states to combat the illegal passage of people infected by Covid-19.

President Nicolás Maduro has decided to create the Special and Temporary Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones in the border states, we are going to start with Táchira and Zulia states to attend to the situation of the trocheros, “Rodríguez said.

The vice president pointed out that all the components of the military civic union must work together against the virus, “the idea is to articulate all the security forces to combat covid-19,” she added.

Coronavirus balance

“There is an outbreak of the coronavirus and it is a consequence of the cases promoted by Colombia and Brazil of compatriots who are returning to our Homeland (…) in the face of this outbreak that Venezuela is experiencing, the President asked us to focus our management agenda on the health protection, “said Rodríguez.

The vice president pointed out that screening tests will be intensified throughout the national territory, “we have carried out 1 million 219,651 tests, which represents 40,655 tests per million inhabitants,” she added.

“Today we have the highest number of cases of coronavirus 351 new infections, which 249 are of community transmission, 101 imported and one case by contact with international travelers. We reached a total of 5,130 infections in our country,” announced the Health Minister, Carlos Alvarado.

Minister Alvarado pointed out that the new cases are distributed in 14 states, “143 in Zulia, 65 in Miranda, 35 Bolívar, 34 in the Capital District, 25 in Sucre, 15 Monagas, 11 in Mérida, seven Trujillo, four Nueva Esparta, three in Apure, three in Aragua, three in Yaracuy, two in Anzoátegui and two in Lara, “.
