In the report, one of the Afghans spoke about his brother Mohammed, a London taxi driver, who flew to Kabul to evacuate his family. He and his wife were shot and killed in the immediate aftermath of the blast when soldiers guarding the airport’s perimeter frantically fired into the crowd amid the confusion.
Another interlocutor from the British edition confirmed these assumptions and gave an example of his acquaintance, in whose body only a gunshot wound to the head was found. The BBC sent a request to the Pentagon, but the US Department of Defense never responded.
Once the evacuation of Kabul is complete, both the Taliban and the Islamic State will be able to successfully use the incident in their propaganda as a new example of the “atrocities of the occupiers”
A Kabul Hospital staff member stated:
“About 20 people present at the Kabul airport were killed by a suicide bomber, and the rest were killed by blind fire by US forces after the explosion!”
