Spanish Army joins the fight against COVID-19 in Madrid

The Army began this Wednesday to act in the Community of Madrid with the deployment of 64 soldiers distributed in two sections of trackers to collaborate in the tasks to fight against the spread of covid-19 in the region.

The Government of the Community of Madrid, specifically Vice President Ignacio Aguado, has requested this Wednesday the help of the Army to set up field hospitals, carrying out diagnostic tests and disinfecting the basic health areas that suffer restrictions.

The Ministry of Defense was already collaborating with the Madrid authorities in the region through the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and this same Wednesday these 64 Army soldiers have joined.
