Saudi women can now join the Kingdom’s Armed Forces. Registration was opened last Sunday in web format, local media report.

Women are able to join the ranks as soldiers, lance corporals, corporals, sergeants, and staff sergeants in the Saudi Arabian Army, Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force and Armed Forces Medical Services.

To join the Army, women must be between 21 and 40 years old and at least 155 centimeters tall. Entry to the military career is prohibited for those who are government employees and those who are married to foreign citizens.
