Deputy for Murcia of the Unidas podemos political party in Congress, Javier Sánchez Serna, has registered this Monday a battery of questions to the Spanish Minister of Defense Margarita Robles after the exclusive revealed by the Público newspaper about the presence of neo-Nazi officers and non-commissioned officers in the barracks of Cartagena, Murcia, according to an exhaustive dossier that shows that the Murcian neo-Nazi group called Lo Nuestro has among its followers at least one Air Captain, a Navy sergeant and two first corporals of Land and Navy, all active.
This report, which Defense has in its possession since last December, consists of 45 pages, in addition to numerous graphic and documentary evidence, which show the presence of Nazis infiltrated in the Armed Forces. So far there has been no formal response. The graphic evidence is numerous: images appear in which you can see the captain of the Air Force, Antonio José Meroño, the first corporal of the Marine Corps Héctor Veiga Gutiérrez, and the first corporal of the Army of Tierra Francisco Javier Díaz Pérez, together with local neo-Nazi leaders, celebrating the acquisition of a Nazi Iron Cross and showing off its authenticity.
Sánchez Serna asks the Minister of Defense about the actions planned by his department to dismantle this neo-Nazi group, as well as the measures that he will take against the neo-Nazi instructors detected in said report. In addition, he asks Robles for information on whether the Ministry of Defense put this dossier in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office so that responsibilities can be clarified.
Sánchez Serna has assured that this type of behavior could never occur in neighboring countries, and that episodes such as this Monday “take us away from full democracies and place us in past eras of our history.”
