Video exposes for first time the Ayyash 250 missile, which entered service on May 14, 2021, targeting Ramon airport in southern Palestine Operation Jerusalem Sword
The Hamas movement has fired a large missile from the Gaza Strip at Eilat Ramon International Airport, the second largest in Israel.
The military wing of that Palestinian group chose the airport in the extreme south of the country as the target of its attack after Israeli authorities redirected flights from Ben Gurion International Airport, which is closer to the Mediterranean coast.
“We have launched the Ayyash 250 missile, the most destructive, with a range of more than 250 kilometers, against Ramon Airport in southern Palestine, located 220 kilometers from the Gaza Strip,” the Izz ad-Din Brigades wrote to the -Qassam on Telegram. The group claimed that this is a “limited” response to the killed of several Hamas leaders by the Israel Air Force.
Meanwhile, official sources in Israel have ruled out in statements to Reuters that Ramon airport was in danger from the Palestinian fire and report that it continues to operate as usual.
