Narcoaplane with US registration number shot down in Venezuela.

Venezuela Internal Affairs Minister Néstor Reverol, announced through his social media that this Sunday, October 4, a plane that was illegally flying over Venezuelan airspace, bordering Colombia, was neutralized.

As part of the unrestricted fight carried out by the Venezuelan State against illicit drug trafficking, an aircraft was immobilized that was illegally flying over our Venezuelan airspace near the border with Colombia.

Upon entering our territory, and being detected by the radars of the Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command (Codai), the provisions of the Control Law for the Comprehensive Defense of the Airspace were complied with by neutralizing this plane. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its commitment in the active fight against the structured groups of transnational organized crime that intend to use our airspace for this criminal activity.

The National Anti-drug Office (ONA), in coordination with ground-to-air operations, sent military commissions to collect items of criminal interest at the site, locating the GULFSTREAM III model, twin-engine, white aircraft on a clandestine runway near the Santana sector.
