Militants from Myanmar’s Kachin Independence Army have seized a State Administrative Council security checkpoint near the town of Hpakant in Kachin state.
The Kachin are a coalition of six tribes whose homeland encompasses territories in Yunnan, China, northeastern India, and Myanmar’s Kachin State.
