Mercenaries and separatists clash in southern Yemen / Diplomatic struggle to bridge gap

Clashes between forces loyal to Mansour Hadi (affiliated to Saudi Arabia) and forces of the Transitional Council of the South (affiliated to the UAE) have resumed in Zinjibar and Shabwa, leaving casualties on both sides.

At the same time, the Saudi Deputy Defense Minister stressed his support for the resigned Yemeni government during a meeting with Mansour Hadi. The meeting discussed the Riyadh agreement to end the conflict.

The head of the Southern Transitional Council also said during the meeting with the US ambassador: “The purpose of intensifying the military actions of the forces affiliated with Mansour Hadi is to defeat the Riyadh agreement.”
