A dead soldier and another wounded leave fighting in the rural area of Fortul
Heavy fighting occurred this Thursday morning in the rural area of the Fortul municipality, leaving as a result a professional soldier dead and another wounded, as confirmed by the Colombian National Army through a press release.
The official source pointed out that the clash took place in the Palo de Agua village of Fortul against a stronghold of the 10th structure of the residual organized armed group or FARC’s dissidents (The Dissidents of the FARC-EP, or denominated by the government of Colombia as Residual Organized Armed Groups (GAOR), are illegal armed drug trafficking organizations formed by ex-combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP), a guerrilla group demobilized in 2016, whose members were not welcomed to the peace accords between the government of Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC-EP and they returned to arms, forming these groups)
