August 2, 2020 confrontation between terrorist in Africa
Amaq, affiliated with the Islamic State, posted a video of a militant attack on al-Qaeda jihadists. The incident took place on 2 August in the Menaka area of eastern Mali. In total, according to the Islamic State, they managed to kill about 70 jihad competitors during the attack.
In the weekly Al-Naba, IS propagandists claim that since the beginning of August, the group’s militants have carried out at least five major attacks in territories controlled by al-Qaeda jihadists. During the battles, they managed to kill several hundred militants and take possession of their weapons. The main theaters of military operations were the eastern part of Mali and the western regions of Burkina Faso.
Previously, IS propagandists have reported on the battles against the Al-Qaeda affiliated group Jamaat Nusrat Al-Islyam Wal-Muslimin, the outcome of which turned out to be disastrous for the latter.
