The clash events with an epicenter in Apure state, represent the most forceful third-party and unconventional war maneuver against Venezuela in recent times, a specialized source stressed.

Since Sunday, March 21, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) have carried out search and capture actions against Colombian paramilitary commandos in Venezuela south border, with an emphasis on the vicinity of La Victoria town .

According to a report by the Samuel Robinson Institute, these irregular actors have carried out attacks against civilian population in order to control the area and expand their drug trafficking operations.

‘The time arc and the intensity of the confrontations are leaving us with a quick conclusion and, not for that, less decisive. It is the most dangerous masked intervention attempt in recent years’, underlined the article released by the study center for Original Thought.

Armed clashes can be framed in an unconventional war scenario, given the lethality and physical violence inflicted by paramilitary groups against civilian population and government facilities.

The source specified that the component of physical and moral destruction is an essential part of the paradigm of war by delegation, as well as the maturation of an insurgent force that over time develops sufficient war capacity to destabilize the functioning of the military forces.

In this sense, the incursion of illegal immigrants across the border would imply the upper phase of the frustrated Operation Gideon (May 2020), an organized terrorist aggression in Colombia with the aim of perpetrating assassination and coup in Venezuela.

According to analysts from the Samuel Robinson Institute, the attack by armed groups in Apure is projected as an attrition operation aimed at testing the response capacity of the FANB, the effectiveness of its infrastructure, troops and war arsenal, in the face of possible new expeditions. .
